Tourists from different parts of the world come to Vietnam for fun and relaxation. You can come and visit the most beautiful towns for various attractions, such as Ho Chi Minh City, Mekong Delta, Phu Quoc, Vung Tau, Da Nang, Mui Ne, Dalat, Nha Trang, Hue, Hoi An, Hanoi, Ha Long Bay and Sapa.
Now, let’s take a look at what you can do in Hoi An. This is one of the World’s Heritage Site that UNESCO declared in 1999. You can find this place in the Central part of Vietnam. You will surely find it surprising because this ancient town has many amazing things to offer to its foreign and local visitors.
First, move around the Ancient Town of Hoi An, you will find one of its landmarks. It is the Japanese Covered Bridge’s Pagoda, which is also known as the Chua Cau or the Lai Vien Kieu. This bridge was built in the 1600’s.
Second, visit the museums
The Precious Heritage Museum, where you can find photo exhibit and artifact collection.
The Museum of Folk Culture with Vietnam dress and culture documentation; and plaster sculptures of farmers in an unusual look.
The Museum of Trade Ceramics for a display of pottery.
The Museum of History and Culture, having collections of black and white photographs, canon, pots and some remarks from the Champa era.
The Museum of Sa Huynh Culture, where you can find pot and urn collections from the 1-2nd century.
Third, visit the Old Houses
The Quan Thang; the Phung Hung, which is a house near the Japanese bridge; and the Tan Ky, which shows a combination of a Japanese and Chinese architecture.
Fourth, visit the Congregation Halls, where meetings are held.
The Hokien or Fujian Meeting Hall, which is also called the Phuc Kien.
In 1887, this Chinese All-Community Meeting Hall or Trieu Chau was built.
The Cantonese Assembly Hall or Quang Dong with a peaceful courtyard, decorative sculptures and backyard with dragon figures.
Fifth, sailing on the river
It would be nice to sail along the rivers of Hoi An with swan boats. These boats are actually passenger boats, but it has a shape of a swan.
You may also get some long-tail boats for kayaking. You will surely feel relaxed while paddling along the river. A simple way of releasing stress.
Seventh, walking around the city
At night, you will be amazed when you can see various lanterns that lights different shops in town. During the night more shoppers are attracted to move around for window shopping.
Eight, Play a game
You will find the Urban Tales of Hoi An game and a way of traveling as if you were in the scenario from the past. Here, you have to follow a trail, you will walk, jump on a bicycle and talk to the actors. You will be guided as you finish and unlock the mystery of the game.
Ninth, go to villages
The Tra Que Village, where you can learn how rural life is in Hoi An. This village is also called the Green Paradise because they are known for fresh vegetables from their garden. You can also find here pottery and lantern making shops.
Tenth, sail the island
It would be great to experience sailing the Cham Island. You can hire a motorboat and if you like diving, then you may have the chance not to miss your scuba diving and snorkeling activities.
